DIY Craft- Pattern Paper Pencils

Pattern Paper Pencils are great for a small present, and are really easy to make. If you want to see where I got everything, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

This is what you will need: Ruler, scissors or exact-o knife, un- sharpened pencils, patterned paper, sponge brush, modge podge glue, and cutting board.

1. Select a piece of patterned paper (not newspaper) trace out how long your pencil with a ruler is from the bottom of the metal part to the bottom part of the pencil. You will need about an 1 1/2 of width.

2. Cut out with an (exact-o knife or scissors)  the traced line. As you can see, you don't want the end to be more wide the the top. It looks un- pleasant...

3. Next, you will need to take out your modge podge glue and start to glue on the glue with your sponge brush on the back side. In the picture, this is not the back side of my paper.

Tip: When you glue on the modge podge you may want to lay down a piece of newspaper or shopping bag on the table so then you don't get any glue on the table.

4. Lay the pencil in the glued paper and roll. Make sure you roll the pencil in the paper tightly so then there aren't any air bubbles.

5. Lastly, smoothly cover the paper with modge podge on the folded part of the paper.

6. Then va voom! You have your patterned paper pencil! If you are giving a patterned paper pencil to someone, I would recommend making more for them. :)

Where I got some of the things:
Pencils (I just got Hello Kitty pencils because it was a cheap pack of pencils and plus, you won't be able to see the pencil when your done anyways).: Michael's Craft Store

*I'm not so sure where I got everything else...

DIY Nyan Cat Nails!

Here's a DIY craft made by me, Carmin.... a Nyan Cat nail tutorial!

So here's what you'll need to do your nails Nyan Cat style:

Red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue, pink nail polish, (I didn't end up using the light blue nail polish) and a white and black nail art pen.

1. First, paint all of your nails a dark blue

2. Use the tip of your nail polish brush to make swift lines of rainbow. Start with red. Tip: Don't make the lines thick. Make sure that you have space between your rainbow lines and the tip of your nails. Don't do your left thumb.

3. Once you are done doing the rainbow lines, use your white nail art pen, and draw tiny dots above the rainbow lines and below them.

4. For the Nyan Cat, take a blob size drop of pink nail polish and put it on the side of your left thumb. When that dries, outline the blob drop with a black nail art pen in a shape of a cute cat.  Make sure Nyan Cat has whiskers!

(My Nyan Cat is sort of blurry...)

5. Behind Nyan Cat, draw those little rainbow lines. You probably won't have enough space to do the whole rainbow, so only do red, orange and yellow. (If you don't have that much room).

6. Finally, draw little white dots above Nyan Cat. Good luck!

This is what it looks like in the end. :)

Taylor Swift's new song

Have you heard Taylor Swift's new song Begin Again?! Great song. Love it. Love her. A lot.

I'm so excited for her RED album coming out on October 22. I think that Begin Again is really calming and more like her. When We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together song came out, it didn't sound like her as much as this one did. By the way WANEGBT, is a good song too. So mark your calendars for October 22!

Franklin Cider Mill today!

Went to the Franklin Cider Mill today with my buddy Shannon. there were 5 different cats. One of them made my heart break.

About a month ago a cat that look very unhealthy was strolling around my house. The cat had flies sworming the cat and the cat was very thin and small. When I saw the cat I started sobbing. It looked really bad. At the same time, my mom, Shannon, and I were actually saving a dog too! I felt like Snow White and the animals were coming to us. :) My mom and Shannon went inside the house to get some water for the dog, so I had to wait outside with it. The dog saw the cat and I was freaking out that the dog was going to attack the cat. So I started screaming, "Mom! Mom! Mom!" When she came out she quickly also grabbed a box for the cat, and some gardening gloves just to be safe. She carefully put the kitten in the box and called animal control. Animal Control came to pick up the cat and the dog. The worker said that the cat was in bad condition- not good. So he took the cat and the dog and told us that he would call us when he found out the news.

We ended up getting a call from Animal Control saying they helped the cat and found the dog's rightful owner. Anyways, at the Cider Mill, I think I saw the cat. It had the same pattern, and white mark on his stomach. I broke down into tears, thinking, oh my gosh, I have to get this cat. I never ended up getting it though. So I am still crying.

At the Cider Mill, I got cider and doughnuts! Yay! That is a sign that fall has officially started in my world. And it actually has started yesterday!

Sorry for the long winded post..... :)
