Pattern Paper Pencils are great for a small present, and are really easy to make. If you want to see where I got everything, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
This is what you will need: Ruler, scissors or exact-o knife, un- sharpened pencils, patterned paper, sponge brush, modge podge glue, and cutting board.
1. Select a piece of patterned paper (not newspaper) trace out how long your pencil with a ruler is from the bottom of the metal part to the bottom part of the pencil. You will need about an 1 1/2 of width.
2. Cut out with an (exact-o knife or scissors) the traced line. As you can see, you don't want the end to be more wide the the top. It looks un- pleasant...
3. Next, you will need to take out your modge podge glue and start to glue on the glue with your sponge brush on the back side. In the picture, this is not the back side of my paper.
Tip: When you glue on the modge podge you may want to lay down a piece of newspaper or shopping bag on the table so then you don't get any glue on the table.
4. Lay the pencil in the glued paper and roll. Make sure you roll the pencil in the paper tightly so then there aren't any air bubbles.
5. Lastly, smoothly cover the paper with modge podge on the folded part of the paper.
6. Then va voom! You have your patterned paper pencil! If you are giving a patterned paper pencil to someone, I would recommend making more for them. :)
